  • Service Agreements

    A generator service agreement is an important step to ensuring that your generator and transfer switch will operate when needed most. While it is impossible to guarantee functionality, having a skilled service person perform scheduled maintenance helps to find and correct unforeseen issues before they leave you stranded.

Regardless of the make and model of generator or transfer switch, it is important to have someone skilled in properly troubleshooting and repairing your equipment.   • Generator System Sales

    We are proud to be a Kohler, Generac, and Cummins authorized residential and light commercial full-service dealer! This means that we can sell, service, and warranty your power system. We are happy to come out, free of charge, and give you a quote on a new backup power system.

  • Control Replacement

    Whether your equipment is new or old, at some point your control system will become obsolete. Having a skilled service person who has replaced controls on newer and older units due to obsolescence or cost is very important.

  • Transfer Switch Maintenance

    Transfer switches can be complex pieces of equipment. They are usually put on the back burner when it comes to maintenance as they are a critical component in keeping power on. Because they sit idle for most of their lifespan it is important to schedule time to exercise, clean, and lubricate the components. While this does require down time, it is far better to have a scheduled outage than a failure when needed most.

  • A service agreement is an easy way to make sure that your generator system is operating at its peak performance. These systems tend to sit for long stretches of time then are asked to run at their peak performance. Having trained eyes look over a system can find issues that could prevent the unit from running when needed most.

  • On a standard service agreement we come out twice a year. One visit will be to change applicable parts and fluids such as: oil, oil filter, spark plugs/ ignition parts, fuel filter , coolant filter. Then the unit will be thoroughly inspected for defects. The second visit will be a thorough inspection, wipe down of the engine/ controls, and test run of the system. Any defects will be brought to your attention and will be quoted for repair.

  • When it comes to time-based recommendations our goal is to minimize the likelihood of an issue. Batteries for instance are a very common failure point for a generator. While it is possible for a battery to last for many years, replacing every 3 years reduces the chance for failure when needed most. Just like batteries the cooling system components can last for years, however the hoses start to become brittle with age and the coolant can become acidic or burnt.

  • While there are many things that have to be factored into your specific installation, our average turn key installation is between $13,000 and $16,000. This is for a whole home 20KW generator with a 200A transfer switch fully installed and ready to go.

  • We can service any brand, model or size of generator. With over 18 years of experience we have worked on a wide range of power equipment.

  • We do! We offer Kohler, Generac, Cummins, Briggs and Stratton, and Champion residential and light commercial generators. This allows us to offer a perfect fit for your needs.

  • We do not currently sell or service portable generators. With our hourly rates it does not make sense for us to work on these units.

  • We do work on these units occasionally. Depending on how busy we are can dictate if and when we can work on these types of units. Please feel free to call and inquire.

  • Large generator piston failure

    Piston Scoring

    This piston is from a large unit (2000kw, I believe). This failure was due to the injector not spraying properly. Luckily this one cylinder kit and injector nozzles were all that was needed for repair.

  • Caterpillar Generator controller replacement

    Controller Upgrade

    This old Generator had a replacement controller on it already but it was failing and was obsolete. The Deapsea line of controllers are a great product and can be put in almost any application. They can also give added functionality that wasn’t available when this system was new.

  • Generator troubleshooting on a Kohler industrial generator

    Failed Terminal pin

    These pins came out of a wiring connector causing voltage output issues. As you can see, the pin on the right is Broken so it was not making a good connection. Issues like this can be hard to diagnose because they are hidden inside of a connector.

  • Catastrophic Cummins generator failure

    Piston cooling jet failure

    This engine failure was a result of a piston cooling jet failure. Fortunately, this was damage was done during testing as opposed to in an outage situation. While a failure like this is never good, minimizing down time is.

  • Just an exhaust leak?

    Unfortunately, NO! While the issue did start as just an exhaust leak due to loose bolts where the exhaust manifold attaches to the head. This issue caused the metal gasket to fail into a turbo which caught the air filter on fire and the debris was sucked into the engine. Luckily the engine was ok, but the failure caused a lot of damage and down time while repairs were made.
